PSALM 23
This psalm, which is attributed to David, is his personal testimony descriptive of God’s love and care for His people.
In fact, as the children of God and the sheep of His pasture, we can be assured that the Lord Jesus Christ, our good shepherd, will provide for and protect His people.
As our Good Shepherd, God leads us in the paths of righteousness. We have before us the provisions and the protection of the Lord, knowing that we have His loving kindness; and that He stands before us, thus enabling us to lean, depend and trust in His guidance and direction.
In fact, it’s good to know that our Good Shepherd knows what we have need of and He will supply all our needs “according to the riches of His glory.”
He is our “refuge and our strength, and a very present help in times of trouble.” Our Good Shepherd knows the plans that He has for us, that He “might prosper us” and bring us to His expected end.
What a blessing it is to know that the Lord will never leave us nor forsake us, and that we can trust in Him as we order our steps in His Word. Thank God for his provisions, His protection, His guidance, and His mercy.
What a blessing it is to be the recipient of God’s mercy. Therefore, we should ever thank Him for His Grace and mercy, for if justice had its way, none of us would be here today!
Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised; for as our Good Shepherd, He has done great and marvelous things for us, whereof we ought to be glad.
Praise be to God for our individual and corporate testimony of the Lord as our Good Shepherd.
In fact, only a sheep can say that the Lord is My shepherd!
May we learn how to obey His word – wait on His time – stay in His will- and lean on His promises.
Know that our Good Shepherd cares for His sheep. Follow Him, for we are not sheep without a Shepherd.
